The Hope of Mankind/The Corruption of Life |

The evanescent glow of the newborn soul, before corruption reaches its hearth, is a sight that all people should behold. For purity can only exist in either those who are dead, or those yet to live. So to catch just a single glimpse of it is something that no man should miss because after a second of time elapses, the newborn loses his innocence to corruption, or life, as some may call it. As long as purity can exist at all, even if its time on earth is only a moment, then this world will still have the hope that some day corruption will wither away and man will be free to live in peace. But that is just a foolish dream, for we all know that mankind loves chaos since it breeds the hate that fuels society. The leeches of this world use anger to turn us against ourselves in order for them to eat the fruits of our labor. Their corruption destroy our innocence, and mankind is left to dream things that can never occur in our lifetimes, the dream of peace without prosperity. As long as the corrupt lead the just, these seeds of hope will never take root in what we know as this world's reality, the reality that the corrupt will prosper, leaving us to die like lambs to the slaughter. "Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing, Doubting, dreaming dreams no mortals ever dared to dream before;" -Edgar All |

Yo, Andrew. Just wanted to point something out: Lol, the last word of each line in the last stanza (except for the 2nd to last) ends with a powerful noun. Good poem by the way! XD There is power in the pen. |
