I got the idea for this poem from Bullet Proof by falling rain I hurt now and then But I hide it well Everyone says My heart is made of ice That I feel no pain I've been hurt so bad that Small things don't matter Words don't tear me down But I'm not bullet proof Building these walls Around my heart That keep everyone out Everyone says I am the strongest Person they know But I'm crumbling And they don't understand I am only human I can only take so much I'm not bullet proof So much hurt So much pain These walls come Tumbling down Revealing the hurt and pain I've hidden for so long The anger released Burning up my energy Every word that ever cut me Every pain I've ever felt Blur my vision And run down my face Leaving a trail of unhappiness I'm not bullet proof Past sorrows felt New ones to come I can't hold on I'm loosing myself I can't take all this pain All this hurt I'm not bullet proof If you don't like something, Change it... If you can't change it, Change the way you think about it |
