Daddy's Doll:
The refrigerator is full of beer,
And the couch is full of crumbs.
I go to bed and in my head,
I just know he's going to come.

For my dear old Dad, has made me sad,
By playing house with me,
And you can bet, I can't forget,
All the things he's done to me.

For he's robbed me of my purity,
And he's stripped me of my pride,
He took from me my virginity,
And he ruined me inside.

It makes no sense my innocence,
Was forced to take a tragic fall.
I don't know why but I know that I,
Have become my Daddy's Doll.

I'm so confused for I've been abused,
And I don't think he will stop.
It sounds absurd but If I say a word,
I know I'll get a pop.

And I'll have to lie about my eye,
When it is black and blue.
I slipped and fell, I hurt like hell,
But what am I to do?

It will do more harm if I tell someoone,
Because they'll think it's a lie.
And for a fact, they'll tell me that,
My "Daddy's not that type of guy".

And because I'm young, I bite my tongue,
And my tears begin to fall.
I wonder why I have to cry,
And be my Daddy' Doll.

I read your poem and know its contents all too well. There is one thing that bothers me about your poem, and that is the fact that you state there is no use telling anyone.

Trust me when I tell you - Wrong! If the first person told doesn't listen, try someone else, and just keep telling someone until you are taken seriously, someone does believe you, and something is done. Try a pastor, school guidance, police, a friend's mother, father, or someone you trust, but TELL!

This type of abuse is absolutely never the child's fault, although sometimes they think it is, or they caused it somehow.  The person doing this abuse - either man or woman is "The Adult" and should know better!  They need to pay the consequences of their actions. It is not okay!  By the way, they never are "that kind of guy" in appearance to others.

Just keep writing, you are doing just a great job!  I have read almost all your work but this one struck a chord with me.

Just wanted you to know, you are not alone in this, if in fact, you are writing about yourself. There are many out there you could help.

I am Literally in tears... I just don't know what to say... My heart....my spirit...and my soul goes out to you. I know that it hurts to talk about it, cause your scared and you don't know what else to do. But listen to me... If you don't tell anyone it will just get worse!!! I know this from experience, not handson experience, but I have few friends who went through similar stuff, and let me tell you, it didn't help one single bit for them to hold it in... You have to tell someone gurl, or else you'll be even more scarred inside and outside if you don't....
