More Then Friends Will Never Be

Whisper in my ear that "that is that"
Tell me I was wrong in thinking
That there wasn't a chance to turn back
But I feel like I'm just sinking

Tell me that "there was nothing more"
And love does not exist in this place
Give me a reason, besides you, to live for
Force me to forget your beautiful face

This heart is playing games with me
And I don't want to play that part
Love go away and just leave me be
I know the pain you cause just tears me apart

Why do I question all the facts?
Am I just scared to read the signs
These answer always seem to me abstract
And will lead to heartache down the line

Love has fooled me for the last time
But I still long for her every word
Oh that feeling is so sublime
But the image just can't be pictured

She's too close of a person to be
Anything more then what we say
That she's just a friend to me
And it'll only stay that way

Aw, Zach, I like this, I know how this feels, I'm going through a similar thing as well. I hope you start feeling better, at least she's still a friend.

oh been there, still...doing that.
for me it's been 20 years and it hasn't gone
away and I don't think it ever will.
