This is one of my older poems been in a writing slump lately. Please let me know what you think. Thanks Suffering in Silence: Nothing is wrong, I don't want to believe, There's no use in telling, Because he'll never leave. He calls me spoiled and rotten, He calls me his little slut, I'm scared to death of my father, So I keep my big mouth shut. He touches me unfairly, But I refuse to tell, I want mommy to be happy, And so I do not yell. I hide all of the bruises, I smile through the tears, But no one really knows, He's been doing this for years. At night I dream of a world, Where he does not exist, But If I ever told someone My life would be the risk. I cry out for help, Silent, through my eyes, Why can't you just see me, Stop listening to his lies. Mommy, she believes him, Gran and Gramps do too, My only hope is to reach out, To people just like you. But in your blissful ignorance, You people do not see, And Daddy just continues, to rape and torture me. |
