So many germs reside on hands
Yet none are seen, so habit still
Persists. I bite my nails and hands.
I know it harms me, makes me ill.
I bite, still.

Depressant verses stimulant
Preferring drinks, alcoholic,
To loose the senses, I still can’t
Avoid the promises of it.
I drink it.

I see him daily, work and school.
I bite the fruit he offers me.
I drink his promises to cool
The fever biting leaves with me.
Still-- harms me.
