A Granted Wish

I've known his soul since before
Its nature, its tendencies.
I know too that he has a caring, gentle charm
and it puts me into spell being on his arms.

I had learned to teach myself to forget.
Yet, I often still regret
That one time, opportunity came to me
when he knocked at our door softly.

I didn't have an idea about the plan.
That sweet motive behind his talk.
He finally decided to court me.
The very thought of it drives me crazy.

But my ignorance ruined my fairytale.
And it is to my total dismay
How foolish I have been, so insensitive to faith!
I have pushed him away, without even knowing it.

Now, I'm left gazing at the evening sky
Like I've used to when he wasn't still mine.
I'm waiting for the same star to fall
So that I can whisper the same wish once more.
