12 years of age, Locked in my room, Lost in my safe home, I see impending doom. In the world below my window, A city stands ablaze, Terrified they run, Escaping madmans’ gaze. Swords draw blood, Club smashes face, Screams fill the air, Dark befalls this place. Here in the shadow Of a blood red sky, I watched the slaughter, I saw them die. Brave men and women, Fell arm in arm, Eyes of my hatred, I feel their harm. 18 years of age, A camp before me, Laughter around a fire, Sound of joyful glee. Blade pierces chest, Blood coughs clear, Stare into his eyes, Last memory held dear. 20 years of age, Buried by sin, Black blade in hand, The blind assassin. Hate in the eyes, Darkness in the head, Another fallen prey Lies still… Dead. 25 years of age, Knee deep in blood, Stalking the final man, Here in this wood. Fire burns the skin, Blade takes the eye, Over seven long years, I finally saw them die. |
