I wrote the core of this poem a couple of days ago or so and then realized it was just better rewritten as a vignette. This is not my personal philosophy, It is fiction. _________________________________________________ Summon Me! From distant mountains Where tangled groves bow over fountains' Mist –- The lost and orphaned prayers of thousands Shake Me! -- Shake! Each gilded Logic From dreadful Death! From dung deposits! From the liars breath of thieves! From Serpentes, Friend of Eve! Spill Me! Spill! This ancient grief! This faith that God once had in beasts! Spill the essence of My clay Across this Day! Across this Day! Yes! Yes! Yes! ....Yes! There echos from that distant dell Where idols lean and fallen dwell "O! Lords-in-waiting! Seneschals! Allow it! Thus!" _____________________________________ (Serpentes sounds like Cervantes and is the zoology name given to snakes. Used here as the name of the serpent.) |
