An innocent peck on the cheek between two six-year-olds, in the cafeteria where the old black ladies ladled with light-skinned palms. On a dare, with smiles all around, and no false, damaged-goods nitwit calling the police. You might call it "Opie & Mary's first kiss", except that would be stupid, and just set up the poignant later episodes where she tries to make him jealous and merely hurts him, and later still when they realize they are not, after all, compatible as young adults. |
