An angel fell.

A soulless shell.

No one can hear the broken bell

A demon’s sweet coo,

Heartbreaking and true

As he sings dark lullabies to you.

Fighting off apathy.

Needing an epiphany.

With her demons for company.

Icy fingers grip your soul.

Fear finally taking its toll

Hearts turning black as coal

Snaking through your veins.

Wrapping your heart in chains

Just another horrid game

Fighting fire fades away.

As another heart starts to stray,

Can’t even find the strength to pray.

A rebel’s cry streaks the sky,

Daring to be the one to try,

So Lady Hope does not die.

Fantastic!

No postmortem journey is rife
with more mystery than life.

I love the demon idea. The way the relationship is conveyed.

'I feel like an animal, and I don't think that I get it. But one day I'll see you around.'
