WInter heart for the frosted leaves For the icicles suspended from the eaves Bitter soul for the frozen sparrow Falling lifeless devoid of sorrow Icy blast of the north winds breath Calls those who wander astray to death Bleak touch of the creeping frost That claims the young the old and lost Mournful wail of the wolf packs howl For the silver shadows on the prowl Silently flitting through bare trees Bring down their prey with callous ease Shattered slopes of mountainsides Hide crevasses that claim the lives Of those that walk adventures path And dare the mountains ancient wrath Biting cold and driving snow The aurora's silent ethereal glow All living things contest the odds In defiance of the winter gods On the seashore I espy the dreadful void under the tides |

"Icy blast of the north winds breath Calls those who wander astray to death Bleak touch of the creeping frost That claims the young the old and lost Mournful wail of the wolf packs howl For the silver shadows on the prowl Silently flitting through bare trees Bring down their prey with callous ease" I like. You paint a real vivid picture here. Great wordplay and rhyme structure. - If I cant bend Heaven, I shall move Hell - |
