You look so cold are you sleeping? I feel your heartbeat flutter against mine Like a tiny moth trapped in glass You murmur and tilt your head I feel your hair brush against me sensuously As I stroke your pale slender arm I see the wounds The cruel kisses of the needle's vampirism Would you rather keep those? Than the gentle ones I placed upon your neck and inner thigh? My eyes swell with tears I reach out and feel the contour of your cheek beneath my fingertips You frame a silent word of love and turn away Away So I caress the gentle curve of your back Veiled by your soft raven hair I draw you close You turn to me and your full voluptuous lips meet mine I know I cannot keep you I know you may not even be long for this world But this perfect moment I will capture for eternity I love you Dedicated to my teenage love who shall remain nameless. Nothing compares to the horror of losing someone to heroin. On the seashore I espy the dreadful void under the tides |

I'm speechless. You did an excellent job at putting a situation like this is poetry format. I know how you feel, I just lost my best friend to an OD on methadone. |

I thank you for your kind words guys, they mean a lot to me. SlowlyFallAway, I am deeply sorry for your loss as only one who's experienced it can be. Now I must tell you what I believe, you must get out of that kind of world as fast as you can before it's too late. If I hadn't I would be dead. It took that tragedy and the ruin it brought to pull me away from it. If you can save someone close to you along the way then do it. But don't get dragged down as well, and don't think that you can support someone in that kind of situation. There are no real second chances against drugs. Never sigh for a better world, it's already composed, played and told. |
