My sickness feeds off your desires Stuttered words that make no sense And when it feels so right to come inside Expressions betray the monster That you've learned to hide so well And when I wake up in the morning I thank God I don't remember I can see where this is taking me A life of misery, full of lies and honestly When I look into those eyes Expressions betray the monster That you've learned to hide so well And when I wake up in the morning I thank God I don't remember Locked inside a place I've grown to hate Disrespectful words that I don't deserve And the things I've done to hurt you Were never my intentions But when I see the monster That you've learned to hide so well I thank God I don't remember You could never heal this wound Stop the bleeding, take the beating You could never heal this wound Or take the pain from me And if I wake up in the morning I pray to God I won't remember Emily Shives |

This work lands a cruel heart strike Emily. There's often a monster that only catch glimpses of, or pretend not to see. Never sigh for a better world, it's already composed, played and told. |
