Why did you do it? You knew that he was drunk. Did you really think that he could drive? Your Dumb! Because of your mistake I don't know anything but your name. Don't you see what you left behind? All of the pain you left your family with? What made you get in? Never caring that people would miss you? Why did you leave me when I know nothing about you? You have two sisters who I do know. A mother and a father are left with nothing but sorrow. You ruined your life the moment you stepped into that car. I cannot call you dad, for you are not here to be a dad. I never knew about you I was only a few months old. But you knew about me! So why did you get into that car? Maybe if you hadn't you would still be alive. And I would have had a chance to know my dad. In my heart I love you. Now that I have said what I needed to. I hope that you have learned from your mistake. I know that I have, there is no way I will do what you did. With that...I love you Dad... But goodbye... |

Futile: Producing no useful results; pointless. |

A very poignant first posting. It is hard to dispel the anger we feel when we experience a loss. This poems is a great example of the pain caused to those who are left after someone drives while drunk. I am very sorry for your loss, and his too. By the way |
