Mirror. Three images, one of a woman, one of a girl, one of a child. The child stands in front of the mirror and cries. The woman, looks her opponent in the eyes. The girl looks at both. The child raises her head and looks at the girl. Eyes big and bright with childhood faith, Clutching her bear the child staggers forward. And clutches the girls skirt. The woman calmly raises her head, and stares into the girls eyes, She looks at the child, Various emotions flit across her face, The woman makes no move from where she stands, A calmness fills the room. The girl bends down to hug the child, She holds onto the motionless body, The bear drops, The girl looks up, tears, glistering in her eyes. The girl, older now, faces the woman. Walks to where she stands, Raises her hands, and strikes out Shattering the mirror. The woman smiles sweetly and nods, Before the mirror burst scattering her image, The girl raises her face, No longer a child, and now a young woman. She walks forth, Blood running from her cuts, she crosses the room, and opens the door, To silently face, the trials of life. Words have power, Im going to unleash the power of my soul. |

This was a solid read from start to finish. "The woman calmly raises her head, and stares into the girls eyes, She looks at the child, Various emotions flit across her face, The woman makes no move from where she stands, A calmness fills the room." Was my fav stanza in your piece. |
