The playground, void of voice!
Abduction at night, the method of choice
an empty swing, loiters in the yard!
no sympathy, as the hand strikes hard
Her breath, her sight, bound as she fights.
Deprived of everything, during the dead of night
She used to play in the street,
made friends with the summer's heat.
The heart beats, like drums on concrete.
Cries for mercy, but he dragged her feet
a body bruised, full of fear
as eyes stream the tears,
her voice speaks of prayers
Her ear hears...'music of the spheres'
as she disappears down dark steep stairs.
Innocence lost, locked in a cage
A puppet he controls, stranded on stage.
Frustrating, is loss of salvation.
Suffocating in her sense of intimidation.
Taken away from all she knows!
While her sibling asks "Where did sister go?"
Straight to the grasp of a kidnapper!
This family is poor, so what about the ransom?
Our Kingdom for the family photo-album.
An hour glass ticks with Egyptian sands,
as the sex trade awaits her in foreign lands
Rescue attempts seem impossible
A nickel...more than enough for a few minutes with her
Parents with brave faces, face the reporters!
They searched the strip mines, searched the caves.
Even the abandoned farms and river ways.
Drained the lakes, combed the cemeteries
even attracted the attention of authorities!
Searched abandoned trailers,
Watched every terrifyingly true thriller
that grips you for clues and finally......
Put flowers and pink feathers on an empty tomb.

Captivating. It was emotional through it all. and flowed wonderfully.
