It's dark, out here on these streets, out of control, throwing life's love away. The love that is, has run out of time. A heart that stops on a dime. My own personal cell, no T.V. Just my thoughts and me. I can't save you from seeing these terrible places A polar shift is the potency of poetry in my heart An emotionless diamond in the dirt I speak to my dark desires. I'm a sophisticated samurai strapped for danger. It seemed like the right path to take! I'm all torn up inside, alone in the dark I see a form, lying in the street A tattered coat, no shoes on the feet Bags from the food bank, canned food and Kraft dinner. But even he offers some to the hooker on the corner! They talk about life, if even for a moment. "Silver bracelets await him when caught, an addiction far worse than he thought. In prison wishing to change the past. A life of delinquency won’t last." "Memories so blurry, a mind was so confused, she is still satisfied, with the way she is used. A week's time passes, she turned for the worst, now only alcohol, can quench this over-powering thirst." They both agree, the only light in a day, shines from out of sight, not even their way! They still remain homeless for Christmas a place where "Rock Bottom" doesn’t explain it. A place where you can die before so many eyes. A place like the sea... You can swim towards the shore, grasping to be free, but the waves will pull you back, as soon as you plea! The dark shades of my life, I live inside this place. I hear screams. I hear the heart beat. I hear footsteps from a distance. spider webbed mirrors, broken windows, dust, starvation and passing innuendos. Living a life like this...He hopes it gets better!! But a pebble ripples the water, as I give this person my sweater! - If I cant bend Heaven, I shall move Hell - |

Your lyrics are all too true, for I have seen all this through volunteer work. Well done. Carpe' Diem, |
