The loneliest night of my life You told me to hold on, that you would be back down, And I felt this wasn’t true. So I waited, each minute passing, just looking around. I just wanted to say I love you. Where are you? Fearfully watching and dreading each tick, Almost time to go, I begin to feel sick. I head for my room where I stay alone, Sitting and hoping I hear the ring of my phone. The television blares with its infomercials and shows, I’m stuck in a daze; my hearing seems to be closed. I look around my empty room, Packed bags and memories fill my eyes. Why must it end this soon? Nothing is forever, everything eventually dies. I wait all night just to hear your voice, I’ve never felt so lonely. I can’t believe you made this choice, Your love must be phony. In my life, I can’t EVER remember a teardrop falling from either eye. But I swear, the moment I got in my airplane seat, I began to cry. The entire plane ride spent gazing into the clouds, wondering why? It feel s good to be home, But I’m sad you’re not by my side. My days are spent alone, Loneliness is the feeling that eats inside. It hurts me more when you call at night, All I can do is push ignore. What you did to me just wasn’t right, What are you calling me for? I listen to my messages and I hear you say love, But an action speaks louder than any word. Louder than any word you read above. So now I’m moving on to a new place, A place where I can start again. If I remember your face, You will steal my heart again. So it’s best I forget things that will never be, And stop hoping for things I will never see. So this is my goodbye to you, I promise things will get better. I wrote this poem true, Instead of writing you a letter. |
