Today started wrong. Diametrically opposed in infinite quagmire, fat boy swallows hard as the worm turns. My glucose brain stem fries neurons in systematic order. Plebian churls scatter madly as snake finds its hole, newest king for a day walked the gangplank gladly, his cape a moth-eaten wreck floats above its master. His air bubbles burst for the last time in a savage sea. Bad dreams. Harpies howl at a gutted moon glittering on a red tide, parasitic plastic fingers gouge flesh deeply, as hollow eyes gleam with rabid hunger. A quacking duck shakes its tail feathers, Swimming over towering waterfall, quacks fade into the roar. A bloody harvest of feathers below swirling in pink swill froth. In the cave, behind waterfall’s rushing frenzy, mad pumpkin beast ties knots in the entrails of its last victim, its glassy eyes see nothing but fear left behind. Twisted footprints freshly made by your house. Pumpkin’s fetid breath enters your room in malignant design, a claw like hand dripping with yesterdays kill slowly pulling off your sheets. Tomorrow is not an option. |

Very eerie images in this chilling Dark poem. Goosebumps and shivers galore for the reader. This is a great image inhanced by the use of alliteration: "Harpies howl at a gutted moon glittering on a red tide" Looking forward to reading more of your work. |
