Wounding others, we seek their forgiveness, The hurt one gives to self is always accepted, We denote ourselves on the lowest of post, While carrying the burdens of the rest, Feeling a sense of relief when we cater to others, Not out of selfless but out of duty, When does one seek solace within? It is too late at the end of life, The last ray of light glitter in our eyes, And we realize that we shall go at it alone, No one to accompany us to the next stage, Only to be left behind once more to carry on. "Only to be left behind once more to carry on." Words that read eerily similar to the life I've led. It's too easy to denote yourself that low spot, but then it's so hard to trust believing any spot higher might prove worth the effort. Laying down and waiting to die, after you've already died inside, adds up to a lot of "what ifs" the longer it takes. |

All I can really say is that I agree with this. We do. For myself, doing what you describe here was dictated to me by religion. Duty. Yes. A lot of times it's not until we are drained that we realize we need something for ourselves too. Enjoyed.
