The plane is leaving not coming and I thought it must be life taking love into the blue and simply disappearing. A moment passed, maybe two, and I stretched but couldn’t reach that gleaming apparition perceived as lovers true. If there were tears no one could see, if there was fear no one could feel, and if ten knives slashed at the heart no one could see the blood flow free. I saw it though here on the ground like an overlay on days, months, years, and moved then quickly from the sight back into life’s sure run-around. And so when blood stays on the earth and love somewhere up in the sky it seems that ne’er the twain shall meet and all of little worth. It seems, it seems; but could it be all is not as it would seem? Helen / 26 August 2008 |

Definitely, dear Helen, all is not as it would seem imo! A very powerful write, pain is felt. Though I love your metaphor of the plane leaving very much ... I insist (forgive me!) that LOVE is going nowhere. LOVE is what YOU are and a soulmate surely brings deep joy, but can't add anything to your own perfect completeness. I understand you though fully. We all are subject to this tremendous yearning, never feeling totally happy ... Big hugs, dear Poetess! and much love Margherita "Love is the One who masters all things; I am mastered totally by Love." (Rumi) |
