Hmm…Am I writing free verse?! The Anacreontic verse is an Ancient Greek form: 20 to 30 lines; often not rhymed; three to five syllables per line (irregular dimeter). Common themes were love, infatuation, revelry, festivals and daily life. Thought I'd give it a try Hope you enjoy it! Thanks for reading. Mark Vanilla ice Maraschinos Basking moonlight Skyline still Under Sea Tranquillity; Open-air Abode fore Last train’s whistle They wouldn’t forge Tarried there Without a pause Sharing cola Sex pleasantries Tales of ghosts. Bodies brushed Lips came close Yet no kiss All night gazed Iris to iris By orchids. Walnut eyes Honey tone Golden hair Mellifluous Aroma- Therapy: Dreams that nourish Occur awake, Not in sleep. |

Man! There's a lot of wonderfully evoking image phrases in this piece. You certainly have a wonderful knowledge of poetry.....I'm afraid I'm just more of a Robert Service type of verse writer but I certainly do enjoy your talent. Take care Eric |
