Google Images ~ loganthebear Heaven and Hell ~ Linda L. Dowd ~ Searing winds fleeced this floundering soul, As I reeled on the brink of despair. Precariously perched o’er the pit of Hell, ~With neither a hope nor a prayer. Sulfurous fumes rose from Dante’s depths, ~Spewed from roiling cauldrons below. Tortured souls screamed out blasphemous words, In the throes of their suffering and woe. Sharp gasps escaped my blistering lips, As I lost unsure footing and fell. ~Down brimstone walls that were searing my skin, As I plummeted to the bowels of Hell. I beseeched Our Father to save my soul, And to raise me up thru’ Heaven’s Gate. ~To His loving Home of peace, harmony and love, And far from Hell’s misery and hate. The Archangels swooped down and delivered me, Into the Arms of our loving Lord. I experienced surcease and sweet release, And lay down my warrior’s sword. I breathed sweet perfumes of flowers and herbs, ~Jasmine and roses and thyme. Skies and still waters were heavenly blues, In this Elysian world sublime. Clarion choirs sang to music of harps, ~All were lyrical sounds for the soul. I belonged in this land of God’s Loving Light, ~Not ever to return to Hell’s Hole. I awoke to the madrigals of meadowlarks, With a knowing that all would be well. The Path I would walk rose to Heaven’s Gate ~Not the one that led straight to Hell. “The time has come for man to lay down his arms, and pick up each other.” ~ Linda L. Dowd ~ |

Yo dear Linda, It sound like you got lucky. Of course, I wish you well with that. I liked your thought at the end. Love Bobby |

Dear Linda Angelo Terrestre, you made me perceive those tongues of fire lurking ... it felt like shivering in the heat!! But then the twist of fate brought such a sigh of relief. Wonderful image of the Archangels who came to your rescue ... This is a powerful write, my dear Poetess, and it is a perfect reminder of how our faith and our awareness of being loved helps us overcome our fears. Your poetic language is exceptional. Love and hugs. Margherita "Love is the One who masters all things; |

Oh Linda, this is so beautiful. Now, where else would an angel go, other than Heavens gates. |

The Archangels swooped down and delivered me, Into the Arms of our loving Lord. I experienced surcease and sweet release, And lay down my warrior’s sword. Lovely words dear Linda, but there is something wrong with that poem, for although it is written in your very best style and a joy to read There is no way that you will go down into the cauldrons of hell, for you will go straight to the golden gates of heaven and be welcomed with open arms, Anyway that is what I think. Love you. Lindsay |

That's not a place for an angelic one to be... but you wrote the flames vividly. *S* Great poem of faith... well done! |

I cast my soul into the wind, Its superstitions bid farewell, And by and by my soul returned, Whispering to me; “I am hell”. |
