With detail
you dance your way
across withered trees
that died to make something simple
with knots and cracks
lots of creaks
just like you

I lay down next to you
stare at all the natural cracks
listen close to the natural creaks
trace the knots with my best finger
the one without many scars

I don't want any knots
to heal or fade
I want them to stay the same
keep you mine
anchored in my bed
