If Only

Here, amongst the withered vines, soft grasses...among the labors of my soul
into a moment of thereafter...I lie still, feeling the ache of each beat of a once
young heart...now wandering, wishing to again hold the youth that once was.

Even the darkness behind my lids does not sway me, for my life is here, as
the vines wither and the snows gather upon the mountainous reaches.  Soon,
I shall touch that which beckons me...for precious gifts await me as I softly
touch the sweetness of her lips...if only in dreams...

Effortlessly, you put the most tender thoughts softly to be said.
Missed you here, and glad to see you back.

It's a joy to read you again, dear Barry. I love how you express your melancholy and I love how you are able to feel happiness, even if only induced by a dream. Dreams are our salvation.

Beautiful work!

Love,

It is a romantic write, Magnus, but very real at the same time - and human.  I guess we'd all like to be young again but I've no doubt that we'll all just waste our youth like we did before but dreams ... yes, dream on.  Perhaps it's the blueprint of the future.

Ah, yes. *S* Thank goodness for dreams... and for poets who remind me of them. *S*
