last time I went through Memphis, I got turned around on Beale St...reminded me of going the wrong direction on a one-way street...close enough to dying, I suppose |

more like going to Detroit (...the 'Sphincter Ani' of America?!) almost anytime...[but, particularly during that week when the pyromaniacs ignite section(s) of the city...if that still happens?] good 'penning'! applause!! |

I liked your poem, although I've never been that way.. and from what you wrote, for that, I'm kinda glad.. |

I hope i'm not the only one thinking of the lyrics to "Walking in Memphis". if you're there now on business, download it and give it a listen. You might change your perspective on Memphis... or it may reinforce it. i liked this though. short and provocative. The soul is oftentimes a battlefield where reason and judgement wage war on passion and appetite. |
