do you remember Gaëlle this girl named Pia who sold fabric in an austrian town ? I asked you to buy some material from her, it was love at first sight in my yearning little heart and I needed some trick to get her address, she was a really good looking slavic girl with exquisite look, but 2000 kms far away and conventional letters exchange made me consider love at first sight as a not such reasonable choice. do you remember Gaëlle this girl named Pia, fortunately she didn’t sell houses. To experience love at first sight is such a wonderful event! And you see, even if it seems unreasonable, the memory lasts forever. Enjoyed your well rendered heart spark from yesterday, dear Yann. Love, Margherita "Love is the One who masters all things; |

Thank you EA, enjoyed the humour, don't you think, she didn't sell houses is better than she didn't sell cars ? I would like your opinion. regards yann |

Dear margherita, thank you for recalling that love at first sight is a sort of blessing, but it doesn't garanty success and duration, for me now I consider it a little childlish, may be I'm too delusionned...Thank you again for your kind comment. regards yann |

No, not houses, Yann (I used to sell houses!) - just joking about the "No, not houses" not about my selling them - I did, for 5 years! Most enjoyable poem, Yann. Love is never childish - or so I like to think. - Owl |

Love at first site is a lasting memory, yann but I think you are right and there are times when it is best that that it becomes just a lovely memory. Ida |

2islander2 - love at first site as you've written it, reads as it happened. Very real, and very touching. BC |

Hi Owl, you are right, love is never childish but with love at first site I'm not comfortable with , I'm very doubtful cause when I was young it happened to me a lot of times and I rarely answer to these sollicitations, curiously I have no regrets and prefer a mature love.... have a nice day yann |

When I read and replied to your poem, Yann, I read "love at first sight" more as "intense attraction at first sight", because, strictly speaking, there cannot be "love at first sight", because "love" implies "knowing", and one can't "know" a person at first sight, no matter how much it may feel that way at the time - or how much one can imagine one feels that way at the time. There can be an intense attraction at first sight, then love can grow as the two get to know each other better and better. I didn't think it was important to make that distinction when I replied the first time - because then I was replying to your poem and it doesn't alter the beautiful spontaneity of your lovely poem, but thought I would do just mention it now, as this time I am not replying to the poem, but to your reply - and thus what I am saying is part of a discusssion, and not a criticism of your delightful poem. - Owl |
