Do not show the heart inside So the bleeding of it fades No doctors pills or holistic aid Can save it from itself Walk the hallowed halls and remember All the strains of forced pursuit And what did it gain, but mystic... Fettered men are not lovers Place the mind in sweet restrain And search the halls for other The words I never heard, the ideas Oh what a novel plan Alas the bottled soul is a safer one... |

The heart may not be cured, but the soul is with the aid of medication...I am Bi-Polar. The novel reference refers to an old delusion that I could write a book about part of my life, but it transforms in this poem to the new use of "novel"...to return to the hallowed halls of college and hear the words I missed on my first, and other go-rounds. Hope this helps. |
