Really don't want to close my eyes,
because there are too many why's
popping up, after moments dark,
on which I have no sane remark.

I see some words play in my head,
that I not spoke, but should have said,
but then, maybe, it was too late
so I surrendered to my fate.

I see a pile of work, not done
and wonder where the time has gone,
when innocence was all I knew,
while strolling through wet morning's dew.

I see a life of truth and lies,
and lemonade and cherry pies,
welcome kisses and sad goodbeyes.
It is all there, behind closed eyes.

Despite the fact that it is dark,
I always see this little spark,
which makes me grow in my believe,
that what I sow, I shall retrieve.

Like scattered leaves...my words will flow

Yo dear Titia Geertman,

This quatrain has good end rhymes, I like the way it moves along.

Ah, Dutchie, you always have the right touch. Amazing how much one can see with the eyes closed, isn't it? You describe it perfectly

Titia darling heart, now this is superb, the flow is excellent, the rhyme is perfect. Within it all you’ve wrapped truth and beauty, I love it, as always your beauty shines darling heart.

It is delicious to sip the sparkling drops of Dutch vintage, I so wish I had a thimbleful of your talent.

Take care of you darling heart, and give my love to the sheep.
Love and warm stuff

Hi Bobby, I'm learning, I'm learning to get my end rhymes right.

Janette, glad you liked it.

Arctic Wind, thanks.

steavenr, welcome, haven't met you yet. Yes, when you close your eyes, you might find yourself.

Ah Deer, so glad to see a glimpse of you, it's been too long my friend. And yes, memories of a wonderful time pop up too, when I close my eyes.

Mushy, you're too kind, but I never can compete with you, my dear English friend. Wish we were in Tampa again, swimming in the pool and frying in the sun, while having lots of fun. Those were the good days. Memories that will last a lifetime.

Very true words dear lady, it's like the adage that says, As you sow, so shall you
reap. It is something that I always put

into practice and it hardly ever lets me down. A much enjoyed poem, thank you.

Very touching and beautiful, Titia, but then I always enjoy your poetry because I sense that there is a very nice person behind it.
