In life,
Bones had always been
a city boy.

He’d always lived
in a dirty little row house,
on a dirty little street.

Make no mistake now,
bones loved the city.

He had loads of friends there,
and he enjoyed things
like diving off Penn Treaty Pier,
into the Delaware River.

However, he would watch TV,
and see scenes from the country—
rolling green hills,
with cows, sheep, and horses.

Most of all Bones admired the horses.

The Big Guy knew this.

Bones job in Paradise
would be taking care of a horse.

Bones was presented with
curry combs, and brushes.

The Big Guy presented Bones
with a horse named Flicka.

The boy and horse
fell in love
with each other.

Bones kept Flicka looking great,
and Flicka was always there
to nuzzle Bones
with his lovely soft nose.

Bones and Flicka would ride together
over the rolling fields of Paradise
forever.

Bobby

Oh, Bobby, I LOVE this!  This is my favourite poem of yours!

Giggles, Garapan, but Bobby is right!  Anyone who loves Flicka is loved by me!  On earth, I would have had 10 million rules for anyone else riding Flicka, but in Heaven, my beloved Flicka is safe from all harm, so Bones may ride him to his heart's content!  Flicka will be delighted to have a new friend.  And I am sure Bones won't mind sharing Flicka with all Flicka's animal friends and people friends in Heaven, because Flicka has so many, but none of them are jealous of each other - Flicka's aura takes care of that!

Bobby, may I make one little request (please, pretty please).  Could you say "his" lovely soft nose and not "its"?  Smiling please?

Thanks dear Owl,

I'll make the change right away.

I'd like to add, that Bones is from a very crowded neighborhood.  He knows all about shareing.

Thank you so much for that, Bobby.  I see the change and Flicka and I really appreciate it.

I am glad that it won't be an adjustment for Bobby to share - but even if it had been, Flicka would have made the transition for him imperceptible and a pleasure.  Flicka is like that.  Smiles.

OwlSA,

The real Bones is out on the playground playing a game of stick ball with his friends.  It's 97 degrees F out there.  Are we tough here or what?

Thanks dear Ida,

Bones is a tough kid.  The Big Guy is thinking of turning him loose on Satan.

I enjoyed your inspiration here, Bobby. The thought of Paradise as you paint it for Bones and Flicka is very uplifting.

Thanks Kanashe,

I'm glad you liked this one.  This is after Bones was murdered, and went to heaven.
