I'm not feeling nervous I'm feeling just fine The people don't know me This moment is mine I step to the stage I start to recite The lines that I've studied Every day and night I step into shoes That are not nearly mine I become a new person It's their time to shine I'm speaking with confidence I move without thought My character finds Whatever he sought And now with applause At the plays very end I'm open to critics I cannot pretend I start to feel nervous I'm starting to shake I'm no longer hiding With a person whose fake And so at that moment With clapping and cheering At the end of the play Is when I start fearing |

I think we all tend to be our worst critic. You did a fine job here. Welcome to PIP~~ |

shiliopn - If you did as well as the words in this poem, then there is nothing to fear either before or after... BC |

Well, yes those moments of total silence, before the applause explodes are quite hard to endure. Very good write. You are confident and that's important. Welcome to Pip! Love, Margherita |
