San Antone Standing beneath water’s warm falls Hearing trumpets – an all ‘round call Men standing in some screaming dreams And elders walking older streams When laws, strengths and uncertainties Melded, molded, reality One Alamo claimed in its fold Such a past on uncertain hold Lives and limbs, liberties harsh get on sands, sacred, but no man’s regret To hear great trumpets of one call; Pray then Men, and let no one stall, Though callous the sound, blood was let Pumping forth a river’s regret Then hung thee one and all suppressed A need for supremacy, yet Lives lived, died, though all were of one The Alamo knew of its own sons. © krj 10-12-08 [This message has been edited by Sunshine (10-14-2008 09:21 AM).] |

quote: though all were of one .... The memory should help to LEARN. You have written a highly significant piece of remembrance here, dear Karilea! Love, Margherita |

I love to read the poems that are inspired by the many things in our lives that so many just see, so few understand, and even less are touched by. This brings to mind, the song sung by Marty Robbins, Seige of the Alamo. quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- To hear great trumpets of one call; Pray then Men, and let no one stall, -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you haven't heard the song, find it,listen to it, I think you will like it. Wonderful picture in print. Tracey. The answer is always NO, Until the question is asked. |
