i have no talent as i have time
perhaps that's better
for talent is subjective
while time is substance

my substance is borrowed
so i need it less
as i can never repay
what i've already spent

as much as i spend
it seems i'll always have more
until i have none
when time is no more

so i'll rely on the talent
that i do not have
spending time to develop
what i'll never attain

time passes on
the sand's almost gone
left with nothing to replace
it or the talent that i never had
