something about how we deal with
the space between those moments
when we were accidental strangers
on the same train that was double
parked against the one way sign

and the daily wishing back to ones
that leave us with our hands there
in each other's laps of their minds
twiddling thumbs for the vibration
pretending it is cellphones calling

with a voice on the other end
admitting how bad the empty is
and how much the filling is needed
and would it be too much to ask
to use concrete this time with ends

that can't be pulled out of permanent
