The love for your Children is worth sacrificing for; Once what as important to you, is no longer important anymore; Once you witness their birth, forever changes your life; It changes the way you look at things, even your wife; To have a baby so small, totally dependant on you; You feel totally unprepared, even putting on their shoe; You give up the life, of being totally care free; You start to redefine your life, and loose a big portion of me; Your life gets totally consumed with giving them care; You spend part of the time pulling out your hair; You spend the first year guessing, because they can not talk; You spend the second year chasing them, once they learn to walk; Making decision about their life, deciding it all; Trying to get through to them, banging your head against the wall; In a blink of an eye, they are grown and out of the nest; You always wonder in the back of your mind, did I do my best; Looking at them now that they are almost grown; You learn the sacrifice was worth it, and now your life is your own.
