Fire In The Breeze I have not dined today, Except for the view of these Taken in like sweet dessert, Waves each so slightly, Telling of the breeze. They tell the Don to run away. To lake and sea and finally play Amidst the warmer climates far away And tell the sky to bring him back this way. So once again, we can smell the rain, As it falls on failing green, The chlorophyll now removed, unmasked, Each one reflects true colours seen. From far off, I see them burst The fireworks the greenery brings, A canopy of pyrotechnics, Predicting colder things. And while the summer lasts, mid fall, I will savour this short show, And hold it dear inside memory, To warm me when the north winds blow. Sherry Gardner Note: The "Don" referenced in the poem is the Don River System in the Toronto area. Part of which runs through the valley in the first picture. Here's the map. |

Very beutiful, Sherry and I love the colors. How wise of you to make the printing larger when you use those colors. Sometimes I can't read the oranges and pinks at all, especially when the are against the wrong background. Ida |

Thank you Margherita, I tried to match the words to the colors of the leaves. I originally had a leaf dividing each verse but this forum only allows a limited amount of graphics per poem no matter what the size. I was gratified that you noticed. If you want to full view of this poem with music, Check out the link Fire In The Breeze Thank you Ida, you are too kind. I just wanted the letters to be a comparable size with the Leaf graphics. LOL I guess asthetics has its own wisdom. Sherry |
