There I sat gently swaying, There I sat obliviously playing, When I began to fall to slumber, And in my dream I utter, I wished the wind to blow that day, And it became a gale at play, It Blew and blew and blew with glee, Until it blew me right out of my tree! Then I woke up as the wind settled down, And I settled myself To . . . .. . . The . .. . . .. Ground |

I absolutely love this one. I started smiling about half-way through, it was such a delight. Nan (Pilgrim variety) |

Sherry~ It may have been written 30 years ago, but it is a beautiful poetic season to sweep us off our feet again~ *Huglets* ~*Marge*~ ~*The sound of a kiss is not as strong as that of a cannon, but it's echo endures much longer*~ |

Thank you all for your gracious responses. been off the web for a little while. Incidently, This is THE poem that started me writing poetry. It was an assignment for my Grade 8 english class to write a composition on a short film about a leaf in the wind. I am so glad you all liked it. Sherry |
