Sultry, the morn after as a passionate wind blew upon the dew covered grasses. He stood, waiting for the strike of a mourning clock above a brass chime, awaiting the sound of acceptance...acceptance of all that awaited him. For the day would bring the moon's cavalier rise into skies of molten stars and lakes filled with shimmering waters, where a tear would fall into silence and whispers yearned to unleash and say that which would bring to shudder a sleek muscle's tense and tawny rise. And, as the loon sadly called into the darkness, all would come to be and all would come to pass as clouds drifted the moon's beam and the linger of a moment paused upon the dance of strangers, strangers in the night... |

Barry, I should have known right from the beginning of the poem that this was one of your loon poems - because every one of them resonates something indescribable deep within me, and I felt this right from the first word to long after the last. I am still trying to figure out this one - having only read it twice, but whether I have any success or not, it is extremely beautiful, and probably my favourite of yours, well, so far. Thank you for another wonderful loon experience. - Owl |

It seems to me that this is about love that was destined to be lost. Whether I am right or not, it remains a very beautiful poem. - Owl |

You capture your readers and draw them in with your wonderfully vivid imagery. I adore the ripples and undercurrents that your poetry leaves behind. Nicely done, Sir~ |

all would come to be and all would come to pass. That's an immortal line. The tone, the scene, and the use of language are superb. Nan (Pilgrim variety) |
