Love Is

Love is
loving someone
and being
loved in return.
Love is
a process
that begins
at a friendship
and when properly nurtured
can fulfil all of you hopes and desires.
Treat love not lightly,
like a gift to be abused,
give your love to those that appreciate love
allowing not love to be used.
Love is acceptance and sharing.
Love is concern and caring.
Love is loving someone
and being loved in return.

I certainly appreciate your sentiments, James, but does love simply cease to be when one isn't loved in return? Nope, I think love is love no matter what but certainly more meaningful when loved in return. You love and that's good!

James, when I read the title and noted that it was by Hawaii Man, I knew that I'd be in for the true meaning of what "Love Is" ~ and I was correct in my assumption!

May all the love that spills from your heart, be always returned to you in kind!

Very lovely, dear James, but me too I would say that we ought to learn to love independently from being requited, even though this is our desire ...
