We do not learn to love by accumulating kisses, or by turning heads on sexy legs … We do not learn to love by fantasizing at night over magnificent proportions or enticing eyes… We learn to love by cultivating our soul like a garden, by turning over the ground to discover roots, by trimming the feelings with pruning shears… We learn to love with tools of patience, without ever growing tired that every day we have to work it again … |

Wise words indeed. I can almost remember when the thoughts of my youth were in the wrong direction and now I have learned from life experience. Enjoyed the read |

I feel sad when I see the plethora of dating agencies and text-dating services and telephone meeting lines because they all make promises of instant love. As you show here, love is something that takes time to grow and mature - and is worth waiting for. |

sure David, speed dating looks like a supermarket with different products and the consumer choose quickly and pay for it.... Love is surely elsewhere even if from times to times speed dating can help...There is a good movie about love relationships which is called :JE PREFERE QU'ON RESTE AMIS.... It is clever and funny, perhaps it had been broadcast in England.... best wishes yann |

Dear Yann, I agree with your wise ponderings and find that you have expressed them very well. Love is a serious matter. Even if there can be a love at first sight, it has to be cultivated. Love, Margherita "Love is the One who masters all things; I am mastered totally by Love." (Rumi) |

Such words of Wisdom. Yes Love is like a garden we have to till and give tender care to, something it took me a long time to learn. I heard something the other day that went sorta like this, "when you feel that urge to judge remember the good in the one you love". lis |

"We do not learn to love by accumulating kisses, or by turning heads on sexy legs" ~ Oh, dearie me! So that is what I have been doing wrong! lol All kidding aside, you deliver some fine advice on love ~ and very poetically! We learn to love by cultivating our soul like a garden, by turning over the ground to discover roots, by trimming the feelings with pruning shears… We learn to love with tools of patience, without ever growing tired that every day we have to work it again …" ~ A very beautiful poem on love!!!
