Empire When the last war dragons folded their wings and dove into the sea, tradewinds dusted crimson ash from the reefs of Caerduhn to the green sands of Far Delithe. Eleeli wore sand green and ocean spray the seventh day when the ash ceased to fall. She strolled along the beach, gathering spiral shells into her basket while baby kicked tiny scuttles back to water’s edge. A warm insistent sun hung above amber clouds. Baby whined until she stopped to rest in the shade of a hardpod tree. Sharp grains digging into her, baby across her knees, she patted his bottom and thought deeply about nothing whatever, listening to waves wash away the red. Wash away the red that marked the end of Empire. Later on, baby had gas. Nan (Pilgrim variety) |

Thanks guys. It's the first poem I've written in at least a month. I just sat down and decided if I didn't write something I never would. I posted it three places, but as usual, pip is the only people who get me. Nan (Pilgrim variety) |
