I’ve got three shirts, four pair of shorts Two cans of Pork and Beans- Some tape and an Ace bandage… And an extra pair of jeans. My bag is old and battered- From the many miles it’s known. That suitcase and a rigging bag- Are all I’ve ever owned. I’m what they call a “cowboy”- The title brings no shame… The label is a lifestyle… And one I’m proud to claim! Five hundred thousand miles of road- A lot of two-bit shows… Small pots and “home-town” judging At the local rodeos… The years have passed so quickly- My hair is growing gray… I think I have a few years left, So I’ll be on my way. I’ve burned a lot of bridges- And I've dumped a lot of loads… The only kind of life for me… Is “going down the road”. |

I'm so glad to see this one. Every time I come here (not frequently enough) I hope to see something new from you. I enjoyed this so much. You always remind me of the men I grew up around. I remember my Uncle Lowell visiting--naturally not in the kitchen with everyone else, he was out in the front yard with my dad, squatting on his heels because that was natural to him, and chewing on a grass blade while they visited.
