   Edge of the Void

This window frames
a mountain-moon
of permanent immensity
as life flickers by,
like a reluctant shadow
in a broken mirror’s
  uncertainty,
leaving only
lingering questions
and fleeting time…
disquieting companions
on the edge of the void.

I felt like I was in the middle of an Outer Limits scene...and enjoying the view.

"Like a reluctant shadow in a broken mirror's uncertainty" (My favorite part of this stunning poem). As you would say, Poet.
Serious applause.

Secondhanddreampoet,

"lingering questions
and fleeting time…"

Make the world an interesting, and most intriguing place.  Thank heavens for them.

I like your moon.

I keep returning to this poem, coming away with different feelings each time, like looking through a prism and seeing the many facets of life as it changes. This is a finely crafted, well-spoken write.

Captured by the first line "this window frames a mountain moon" - kind of like the moon is captured by the window.  Enjoyed immensely!
