It was a sky
much like tonight’s
when I suddenly realized
that there was no true measure
of my adoration,

for you

Standing on the crest of evermore
looking up at
the glimmer of perpetuum,
to only realize
that even this,

vast breadth
of lone and deepness,
of interval and occasion,
could still,

not hold all of the fondness
that I have,

for you

As not even
the sheer brilliance
of ageless stars
can compare
to the shimmering
quintessence,

of beauty,
of you,

held softly,
within your, eyes

within,
your,

essentia

How many nights I spent
falling into your eyes,
swimming throughout
your spirit
In hopes that I could
feel the kiss,

of your loving heart

How many years I’ve spent,
matching each star
with a reason for my
affection for you,

to only run out,
of stars

And yet,
it was only through feelings
expressed
and longing want,
of thoughts undressed

that I ever really knew you

Those very special words,
and your portrait of light
that changed like seasons do,

With the timeless beauty
of sea breeze, and aura,
that croons crystal azure,
the melody, the memories,
the bird in my sky,
that will always,

be you

Yes not ever,
can I forget that one
forsaken night,

that one misplaced eve
of wandering breeze
that I first realized
these feelings
for you

It was the wind that panted,
like beguiled harlots
through stiffened branches,
and tight bushes

As arms of tired fog
too dreary to stay aloft
laid with me

as I dreamt of you
my prayer,
my story,

collapsed in time

my pain,
and all that is
my love,

and glory

Deep within the bosom
of your soul
from which my quill
is dipped,

is your, essence,
your muse,
your ink

from which,
I scribe
The feelings

missed

Onto my
heart,
my coveting,
my thirst,

for you

Taste the words
that lay between the lines
not written,
nor spoken

That have waited
so long to be

defined

They are the ones
that belong,
to you

The muffled moans
pink on pillows
with eyes clinched shut
and nails
buried in back

of poems flesh

That illuminate,
that flavor,
polished swords
and cups of firm milk

that runneth
over

As the sweet cachet
that behests
and conveys,

The humility
of soft gloves
upon your hands,

That write the tales
that reach and touch
so far away

to me

You’re my dusk,
of sweet merlot
and,
juicy peaches

Golden ripe beams,
of warmth
that lengthens shadows,
and tightens,
grape skins,

bursting with life

I am soft rain
rinsing through your hair

I am fingers,
of wind
brushing through
your tassels

I am passions bite
soft,

on your mouth

I am the soothing ice cube
dripping

on your
swollen lips

You are my fire,
and, my light,

and the dreams,
that I seek

You are the essence
of my sighs,

as I am the tear,

upon,
your cheek

Freedom of expression is our, write.

Richy, I know that you and I are friends, but I think I would like to be a "dear" friend after reading this breath-stealing, heart-palpitating, spine-tingling piece of passionate poetry! OMG! That must be one mighty dear friend for you to be inspired to write a poem such as this! I'm speechless! ~ and breathless ~ and a tad bit envious!

Giving you a pat on the back ~ and a little one on your bottom! (Oh, that was rather 'cheeky' of me! )

Cheeky Linda Lou my sweet dear, I thought I felt a soft hand back there, plus my gluteous bootiemus started feeling hot! I’m a pretty naughty guy so feel free to give me a spanking whenever you feel it’s warranted okay lol. Thank you so much as always for your kind words my lovely friend, it was so nice to hear from you again, it seems like forever since we’ve written each other.

All of the above - It will have to do, because I do not have the words to describe your words!

OMG - so astounded by the words I almost forgot about the picture.  I LOVE the moon... if I had a totem, the moon would be my totem.  I know - an animal is usually a totem, but then again, maybe I am unusual in a couple of ways. I always love clouds and the way they move with a night time breeze, especially, when there is a moon they can cover and uncover.  I'm rambling... (pink cheeks).  The picture is beautiful.

Thanks for stopping in XGaranpanX, interesting name.

Dear Debra, thanks so much for your two, reviews, you words gave me pink cheeks too. And that’s not from your spanking earlier Linda lol.
Now are you speaking about totem poles, I’ve seen those on my visits up to Oregon to see family there. They are pretty impressive. And hey, if you’re unusual than so am I, because I love clouds, and the moon too. Thanks again my friend, you are a real joy.

Good gracious! Dear Richy, what a wonderful offering! It reminds me of the reason why I missed you when you were gone for so long ...
Breathtaking, yes! And you know what? I want to get lost among the stars and write a cosmic love poem ... ... that's the energy your poem emits, it is contagious.

The picture is equally awesome!

Love and joy,
Margherita

This is THE most beautiful love poem I have ever read in 62½ years(and I am including Shakespeare and all his mates!) - even more beautiful than your Without Words - and I didn't think that you could better that one.

It just breaks my heart that you are not with her.  I can't understand that any woman could possibly resist you for 2 seconds, no matter what you have done to her or to anyone else - even if you are a jewel thief, a bigamist, a con artist, or a mass murderer or anything else bad (all of which I am sure you are not! ), you could turn anything around with your exquisitely sensitive gentle words.

I have just realised this instant the answer to Zimbabwe's problems.  If you spoke to Robert Mugabe (but not in the form of a love poem, of course), I am sure you could make that Hitlerian lunatic give up the killings, attacks, terrorism and his idiotic tyranny and let Morgan Tsvangorai take over.  I suppose that should be a joke, but, just picturing you talking to him, I simply can't imagine him not being totally swayed by your words with immediate effect.  I didn't mean to take away from the mood of your beautiful poem, but that thought just came to me.

I don't know the circumstances, of course, and don't want to interfere (says she interfering), but I really think you should contact her again (unless of course she is married, but I doubt that is the case after what you shared).  Perhaps you don't realise (IN SPITE OF ALL OF US TELLING YOU ALL THE TIME!) the power of your words.  Sorry about the interfering (actually, on second thoughts and to be introspectively honest, I am not sorry - just hoping you won't feel that I have intruded).

ohhh, now you're playing with some pretty words!
Richy, this one will find a cozy spot in my library, under the heading ~Love & Romanticism~
