Other people see her and always comment on her eyes Blue and green with long eyelashes takes them by surprise But she doesn't see what they see her reflection makes her sigh Other people see her and always comment on her hair Lush and wavy, golden brown and hanging down to there But she doesn't see what they see and she wonders why they stare Other people see her and comment on her frame She looks like 20 years ago her body stayed the same But she doesn't see what they see her body's full of pain |

Twenty years ago, I complained of ill-mannered thighs. I saw a picture of me from twenty years ago. What was I thinking? I like this poem. It's sad, but true. We fail to see so often what others do....until the view is distorted. |
