If I knew what to write I would write it A syllable for every day If I knew what to say I would say it Before I leave and go my way If I could find the time I would come back And see how everything goes If I was allowed to backtrack I would halt time in the way it flows If people could forever keep in touch I would not have to miss you If life did not speed so much I would hang around to see you (December 2003) I wrote this one for my colleagues when I quit my job at university in 2003. Looking back now, it's obvious I did not really want to go. And sure enough, I was back 2 months later. I quit the same job again in 2005. I wrote no poems then, so the time was finally right. By the way, I also used this poem (and others) in my story "Meri Saari Zindagi (All my Life)" which you can find here. |

Wow Ida, you read all 14460 words? I'm overwhelmed! Thanks! |
