I kissed the mist
that carried the soul
of a heart so true
it rode stardust
into the blue.

And when I saw
the brilliant golden rays
of a benevolent sun
shine through,
I kissed the mist,
said goodbye
to you.

That's a nice way to say goodbye, and to be remembered in the mist.

Lovely, you~

Kacy,
So that is the same as "I missed the kiss"! I really, really, really like this one. Very well done. How are you and how is that daughter of yours by the way?

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane,
I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Ironically, Midnitesun, this poem was the first I read after receiving news that my magnificent 105 year old friend had been "called back", as Emily Dickinson would have said. What perfect writing for remembrance and solace. Its strength is so subtle.

Wow. The power of this short piece just sweeps in and does a handstand on the heartstrings. What a tribute, and what a poetess.

Whispering thanks. I'm pleased that this has been felt by so many, that it seems to be universal that we find solace when we allow ourselves to gracefully bid a friend final farewell.
