apologies for being so dark .......but mum died today..........

Mum died today …
oh..you say it was six months one year and two days ago
But mum died today

The earth died today …
Oh you drive your car and wend your weary way …
But six months …one year and two days ago ….
Mum died today

Hey.. you eat your burger……
You have nothing to say…
But six months one year and two days ago ….
Mum died today

The TV plays
Yes  life belongs there ..
But six months one year and two days ago ..
Mum died today

Yes mum died..and darkness fell
Mum died and we all could tell
That six months one year and two days ago

Mum died today

Ray,

It hurts.  Each word expresses the pain and loss.  I am glad that you are sharing the thoughts that you 'jot down' - and I send hugs to you.

Ray,

I've been in your chair. And sometimes it just hits you hard without any explanation, without any warning - but more like an invisible hand touching your shoulder.

Even after close to two decades, September 2 always hits hard - and then November 18 rolls in as well.

So, while I know you're doing "ok", here's some anyway.

Teardrops are falling on my keyboard as I write this reply. The loss of a parent feels like a loss of a part of one's own self ~ I know. I recently loss both my Mom and Dad just 4 weeks apart.

I felt every word you wrote and I send a loving, compassionate hug to you,

Love & Everlasting Light,
Linda

Once again I have to say thank you to everyone ....the despair that filled my heart when these words poured out has recinded a little as the day has worn on and your thoughts have lifted me ..sorry for not commenting today on the many wonderful works ...I have read them ...but couldn,t summon the will.I go to play a gig now ...and will celebrate what would have been mums 75th with music....again ...thank you all.

Hi Ray,

It's very good to pen these thoughts and reflect upon them. Good soul-soup stuff.

Best,

Ray, on reading your reply, I got all choked up again. As the old adage goes, "The show must go on!"  ~ play your loving heart out! She'll be listening ~ and smiling!

Your Mom passing on her birthday is as if her life had gone full circle. God bless her!

My thoughts are with you!

Ray,
Loss is always hard but lessens ever so slightly when expressed. That was an excellent write. I am truly sorry for your loss. A mended broken heart is none the less broken, but perhaps a little more repaired then before. God bless you.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane,
I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

This is so deeply touching, dear Ray, your bond of love will continue forever.
My Mom visits in dreams very often and makes me feel her closeness beyond time and space. Wish you may feel this too.
Big hugs.
Margherita
