 Plagiarism Is Dishonest A poem I wrote awhile ago Which she plagiarised I do have good memory It was the title I recognised She entered in a challenge Kept the title the same Not only stole my poem This graphic held my name The words had been written From my heart and soul I hope she felt ashamed For poems which she stole So many time this happens Causing me some grief Plagiarism is dishonest They are nothing but a thief Hope©2008 |

Hope, You said this so well. I am sorry that your work got stolen and I imagine it happens more than we know. I went to a site once and found one of mine -- as a Valentine's gift to another. It's amazing what people will do. Thank you for writing and sharing this. Alison |

Thank you Alison , yes it happened to me twice last week , but thankfully they removed both culprits from each of the poetry sites , but yes its happened to me before Hope |

It's not right this happens to you, but on a positive note, know that your work is obviously great or no one would want it, right?? Keep posting proudly!! |

Hope, I know the feeling. One of my poems was published in a book, without my knowing. A pox on all plagiarists..! |

High-Hope! Like yourself, I have had many of my poems pirated with others claiming authorship of my words. It is infuriating, to say the least! Your recent experience ~ and your vivid portrayal of it ~ has once again, brought all of my own feelings of righteous indignation to the fore. Plagiarists are most definitely thieves! The thing is, most of them must be ding dang STUPID! Ofttimes, they change nary a word to even hide the fact that they were in fact copying the works of others! Sheeesh! See how effective your poem was in stirring up this bees nest that many of us have had to deal with! Good job, sweet poetess! *nodding* no one steals my stuff! I think I am insulted... However, someone recently stole my daughters pictures and was using them to say they were her (the person that stole them) on myspace...now that was a little creepy.. Too many dishonest people..or maybe just desperate to be what they aren't. "too bad ignorance isn't painful" ~Unknown~ |
